The day all SEO’s in the UK has been waiting for since Panda went live in the US, has finally arrived. And from a quick analysis of rankings there hasn’t been much of an impact, which has seen a big sigh of relief from some on Twitter with some people reporting no noticable difference or a minor positive shift.
From the sites I look after I have seen the same with some keywords gaining a couple of places (although this may be down to a good link building strategy
) but I am going to leave it a couple of days and then analyse the results again. That way can see what the change in traffic has been from Google. My early prediction will be that with the small increase in rankings we should see a small gain in traffic from Google, but it will only be small so hardly noticeable, but any gain is still a gain.
And at least it’s not been as bad as we had all feared!
**Update**
After a talk with Michael Montgomery (@MichaelM0nty follow him!) we found that there has been a good increase in keyword rich domains. From looking at the data for some clients we saw sites which feature the keyword suddenly appear on the first page at around position 5 and below. Site’s which seem to have dropped are those which have enjoyed good rankings with similar terms to the searched term. But now they have been pushed down, proving that this update has placed more on your on-site SEO then before.
Pete Young has written a post where he has analysed the biggest winners and losers in the UK from the Panda update, give it a read!
